Bobbie Becker was born and raised in New York, she studied nursing at Hunter College. Her career as a nurse was during the begining and height of the AIDS crisis. Her mother, Bernice, founded PFLAG and had three children, all of whom were gay. Bobbie and her co-parent raised a son as lesbian parents in the 90s, she is now retired and a full time grand mother.
