Marcy Adelman
Born: August 12, 1946
Dr. Marcy Adelman is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist in San Francisco and a writer , researcher and LGBTQ+ aging consultant and policy advisor. A pioneer in the field of lesbian and gay aging, she has worked for over 30 years to make visible the lives, concerns and contributions of LGBT+ older adults, and is a leading advocate for quality LGBTQ+ elder care and policies that safeguard equal treatment. Dr. Adelman is the co-founder of Openhouse, a San Francisco LGBTQ+ senior serving non-profit that provides affordable senior housing, statewide LGBTQ+ senior humility training for senior housing and service providers and services for over 3000 LGBTQ+ older adults. She currently serves on the California Commission on Aging, the Board of the Alzheimer's Association of Northern California and Nevada and several state and local advisory committees.
