Avi Rose
Bio
Avi Rose is a longtime nonprofit organizational leader and community activist. In 2020 he retired as Executive Director of Jewish Family & Community Services East Bay (JFCS). Avi pioneered Jewish and interfaith responses to the HIV/AIDS epidemic and co-edited the acclaimed anthology, Twice Blessed: On Being Lesbian, Gay, and Jewish. Now that Avi has stepped back from JFCS, he is a practicing death doula to help those emotionally, physically, and spiritually on their journey with death. He is in a seminary program to become a rabbi.
