Marcy Adelman
Dr. Marcy Adelman is a San Francisco-based clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, as well as a writer, researcher, and LGBTQ+ aging consultant and policy advisor. A pioneer in the field of lesbian and gay aging, she has worked for over 30 years to make visible the lives, concerns, and contributions of LGBTQ+ older adults, and is a leading advocate for quality LGBTQ+ elder care and policies that safeguard their equal treatment. Adelman is also the co-founder of Openhouse, a San Francisco LGBTQ+ senior serving non-profit that provides affordable senior housing, statewide LGBTQ+ senior humility training for senior housing and service providers and services for over 3,000 LGBTQ+ older adults. She currently serves on the California Commission on Aging, the Board of the Alzheimer's Association of Northern California and Nevada, and several state and local advisory committees.
